There are a lot of great people at this company. Many of which are remaining talent from 2010 or earlier, before it was unlawful to pay gifted salespeople what they are worth when the product happens to be college degree programs. That being said, the culture in most groups has a way of draining the good nature out of it's staff. Many managers believe in motivation through corrective action, even to top producers, just to keep them on their toes. The company is caught in an industry that is no longer the cash cow it used to be, and active enrollments are down nearly 50% without expectation that they will ever again reach former peak levels. This caused panic in an executive team who, in most cases anyway, was severely under equipped in terms of education, experience, and diversity, to handle many subsequent situations properly. I will admit though, they are still in business, and even if that is due to the hoard of cash they put away during successful years- they have cut their annual losses dramatically, and are probably going to show a small profit again in 2018 in my opinion. I still wouldn't by the stock (which is currently under IPO) but they are afloat in an industry where many have folded. Enrollment Advising is a thinly veiled sales position. My team was poorly managed by a newly promoted enrollment advisor with something to prove. Things Ashford doesn't tell you when they offer you a job.If you don't meet your enrollment quota be prepared to work weekends.

Fresh leads are not equally distributed. So be prepared to call people in your own contacts and try to enroll them. I was hired at one rate of pay and believe me I was counting on that salary. But my pay never reflected the salary promised. This is a 'performance based' position meaning if you don't hit your quotas, they will pay your whatever they base your performance on. Who can budget based on that?

I went to my manager and told her my paychecks were several hundred dollars less than the salary I agreed to at hiring. The response was if I wanted to make more I needed to sell more. So I went to HR and the next pay check was even less. Never mind that I couldn't afford to pay my rent and was eventually evicted while working full time here. No one cared I could barely afford gas, food, or other necessities as long as I made the 40 miles one-way to work every day and sold, I mean enrolled something.

It was clear to me what Ashford did care about and I wasn't me. Their big concern was making the sale and sales quotas.

It's disguised as enrolling students into an online college but really Ashford is selling dreams. Working for them, it was my own dream that was deferred.

I have been enrolled at Ashford University since April 2017. I absolutely love it. The classes are only 5 weeks long, so if there is a class I don't care for by week 2 all I have to tell myself is.only 3 weeks left keep pushing.They are back to back so I haven't stopped one bit but you do your work on your own time! You do have to keep up with dead lines for assignments if you want the full grade. To be honest I feel that if you don't do the work.why did you even sign up? You are paying for school, take it seriously and do the work. Yes some classes are challenging, but did anyone honestly think college was a pure breeze?

Ashford offers so many outlets for help, tutors, librarians that are more than willing to help, paper reviews, tutorials and so much more. The counselors are more than happy to answer any and all questions.

When I called them I just wanted to get some information. Within 2 weeks I was enrolled and started classes.

They made it so easy even with my financial aid. They go through every step with you so you know what you are getting into. Don't let people tell you they got scammed because you get to read everything before you sign the dotted line. This is the best place for me because I am a stay at home mom and I do not have to pay for daycare just to go to school. Also I have one week left before our 2 week Christmas break!!! I have a 4.0 GPA that I worked hard for!! Have been invited to be part of the honors college!
